Car care in Jacksonville

How to get dog hair out of your car

A vacuum alone leaves most pet hair behind. Loosen it first with a rubber brush or pet-hair stone, then vacuum slowly in short strokes.

Why a vacuum is not enough

Dog hair weaves itself into carpet and cloth seats. A vacuum lifts what sits on top, but the hair woven into the fibers stays put.

What works at home

Drag a rubber brush, a damp rubber glove or a pet-hair stone across the carpet and seats to pull the hair into clumps, then vacuum it up. Work one small section at a time.

Where hair hides

Check under and between the seats, the seat tracks, the cargo area and the floor mats. Shake and vacuum the mats outside the car.

Keep it easier next time

A seat cover or a blanket in the back for the dog catches most of it. Vacuum every week or two so it does not build up.
