# How to get dog hair out of your car

> A vacuum alone leaves most pet hair behind. Loosen it first with a rubber brush or pet-hair stone, then vacuum slowly in short strokes.

## Why a vacuum is not enough

Dog hair weaves itself into carpet and cloth seats. A vacuum lifts what sits on top, but the hair woven into the fibers stays put.

## What works at home

Drag a rubber brush, a damp rubber glove or a pet-hair stone across the carpet and seats to pull the hair into clumps, then vacuum it up. Work one small section at a time.

## Where hair hides

Check under and between the seats, the seat tracks, the cargo area and the floor mats. Shake and vacuum the mats outside the car.

## Keep it easier next time

A seat cover or a blanket in the back for the dog catches most of it. Vacuum every week or two so it does not build up.
